After watching the polar bears sleep on the concrete next to their snow patch we enjoy a gray Sunday. No, it's not rainy (yet). But at least we can resist that very Swiss urge of going outside when the sun is shining. The polar bears, ok: Once a year or maybe twice the zoo has a winter day for the bears. They organize snow (shaved ice) and the polar bears can enjoy it for one day. But, when we arrived the fun was over and the bears sleepy. The cute Panda baby? Always sleeping in a tree. But we learnt that Pumas can be afraid of wheelchairs and that monkeys and otters play together. Last night we had a goodbye party for a Dutch friend and realized once more how "fragile" and transient our social networks and the whole postdoc experience are. The rest of this Sunday will be dedicated to... work.
