Selina the other day told me in a slight panic that summer will not last forever here and that we have to enjoy it while we can! So we spent more time in outdoor cafes and bars for afternoon coffee and happy hour drinks.
We really like Harvard Square, which has a lot of activity even though the students are not here in summer. Central Square is less touristy and more run down, which appeals to us as well. Further south is Kendall Square where MIT is. This one has more science and less worldly things. Even though they are all called square they are rather big intersections than actual squares the way we know them from Europe.
We also remembered our cultural heritage and visited the Institute for Contemporary Art (ICA). A stunning building on the waterfront.

Finally we also wanted to go to the beach again. We drove north for one hour to find out that the parking lot at the beach was already full. Had to park in the village and take a shuttle for $5 each. That was at least cheaper than the $25 for parking at the beach... Crane beach itself was a nice beach but completely packed with Bostonians. The water was freezing cold (16°C) but we enjoyed the day anyway.
