Diana and Downtown LA

After some turkey sandwiches we left Nan's place in the early afternoon and drove to Pasadena where Diana lives. We arrived while she was still at work (yes, she spends still every possible minute in the lab and it is really difficult to get to see her at all!) so we headed downtown Pasadena to do some Christmas shopping. After only buying stuff for ourselves we picked up Diana and went for a Mexican dinner. As we are all getting older and we didn't sleep that much the night before the evening ended very peaceful and quiet in Diana's apartment with lot's of gossiping. Sadly, Diana didn't have time to spend with us the next day so we went alone to downtown LA after a nice breakfast.

We haven't seen that much of LA yet and we have never been downtown so it was the perfect occasion. We went to see the Walt Disney concert hall which is truly amazing or rather awesome! Shinji took plenty of pictures and I think he was a bit sad that it is not the best object for panoramas... Then we walked through the financial district to Little Tokyo which is obviously the Japanese part of town. They have a little area built like a Japanese village with lot's of shops for tourists but also for locals. We managed to buy some Christmas presents and eat some nice noodle soup. Then we had to hit the road again to go back to SD.
