The thing about holidays in the US is that there are always big sales. So, we took the opportunity and drove around shopping for cloth and shoes. This led us all the way up to Oceanside, about 50km from home, where we had a nice lobster diner in the harbor. Unfortunately, there was a band playing. They were pretty much ok except for the guitarist. I was close to take the guitar away from him. It's absolutely normal that you are not born a guitar hero but then please wait with your performances until you reach a level where it's a pleasure not only for your parents who are proud that their son plays an instrument! We enjoyed the diner anyway.
It was a very quiet and relaxing long weekend and we got some rest that we really needed. The weather was cloudy and rather cool and the wind made surfing almost impossible. The solution was to stay at home, go to the beach for an hour or to drink coffee and watch the tourists. Sunday night we had a delicious Raclette with our friends Lucile and Nico. They invited us to their place to share some precious cheese from France. Mmmmmh! On the way there we became witnesses of a car crash. Some teenage idiot didn't stop at the red light and the car next to us (2 lanes) hit him (because he couldn't see him behind our car). Nothing serious, just damaged cars.
Then there was Peter from Switzerland who stayed at Michi's place for a week. He came over for diner and to play my beautiful guitar and on Thursday we went for the traditional Swiss BB (beers and burgers) night with him and Michi.
Now Selina starts to get ready for her trip home. She is really looking forward to meet all of you! And now I'm gonna join her watching Family guy on TV.
Have good week!
