So, where did we stop? I think Easter, the Sunday brunch. Mmmmhh real Züpfe (or Zopf as Selina was responsible for it...). Who says that you need special flour? Maybe if you have the choice but here it was just delicious. Was great with friends, Champagne, OJ, eggs, bacon, salmon etc. We should actually do this more often! Sunday night was the final farewell diner with our friends Lucile and Nico and their baby Arthur. The left for good and Nico will start his own lab in Toulouse. Sad but great!
Monday was back to reality, no holiday. Tuesday was another Champagne day. Nadège, our other French postdoc had submitted a paper to a top journal and it got sent out for review within few hours. A good reason to celebrate before it comes back rejected... You can see that we like to celebrate every good occasion! We will actually go out to celebrate it again, with a happy hour this time with our boss Michael who was travelling last week...
Friday we went out to celebrate another scientific success by our German friend Karsten, neuroscientist. I'v posted a picture from my phone below. The weekend was really hot with more than 30°C. We're living a dream: Top notch research right on the beach!
