History and culture

After maintenance Saturday we continued with culture Sunday. It was grey and kind of cold (14°C?), perfect for a lazy day at home. Almost... Selina has seen about the history of San Diego on TV and wanted to explore the historic sites close to downtown. So we drove to Old Town ;-) in our car (equipped with new wipers) with our new haircut (only Selina) to see where the cowboys have settled 150 years ago. Everything was more or less as expected: American history is not really exciting but it was fun to see some old style buildings. Unfortunately they exaggerated a little bit with gift shops. In the evening it was raining, a rare occasion to stay at home and go to bed early. Maybe watch a movie? No! I have seen that my favorite Ukulele player (I only know one) Jake Shimabukuro, a Hawaiian with Japanese origins, was playing at Belly Up in Solana Beach. This is a great club and there we went! You can check out Jakes skills in the video. Very impressive this guy! The beginning of the week was usual troubleshooting work and Sushi next door. As we are known customers, we got free shrimp heads... considered a real treat by the Japanese!
