San Francisco

We enjoyed a long weekend in San Francisco! Monday was a holiday so we booked a flight to SF and left San Diego Saturday morning. We spent two great days in SF. Did all the tourist things: Cable car riding, Fisherman's wharf, walk over the Golden Gate Bridge, drink coffee in Castro, the gay neighbourhood etc. I think I have never seen that many tourists in my life before. But it was totally worth it! Sunday night we were picked up by my former class mate Ingrid from Thun who is married to an American and lives in Half Moon Bay now. This is a small village 40 minutes south of SF. There we enjoyed excellent food, great views and a lot of sleep. Monday I had to see "Mavericks", one of the most famous big wave surf spots on the planet. Unfortunately there was no swell and the wave was not even breaking. Then we headed down to Santa Cruz, a laid back student and hippy town. Very nice atmosphere but a little isolated. Sea lions and students everywhere. After another comfy evening at Ingrid and Chris' place we left SF very early today to go back to work. Now we are a little tired but Selina was brave enough to go to the gym after diner! And just came back because she didn't find a parking spot...
