For those who plan to come to San Diego, this is how you land at Lindbergh field. Awesome!
No surf this week. The boards have been at the board doctor. I did some really hardcore surfing in baby waves last weekend and made a hole into Selinas board. Not too bad, can be fixed.
For those who check the San Diego weather on our blog you might have seen that we had some rain! This was definitely the biggest event this week. Everybody was talking about the rain that was forecasted for Friday and then... it didn't come. But on Saturday morning we woke up from a familiar sound: heavy rain. Was almost surreal after 4 dry months! Unfortunately I could not stay in bed but had to go to the immunology postdoc retreat of Scripps, which turned out to be really nice. Selina decided to go to the zoo and see the animals in the rain.
Saturday night Nico and Lucile came over to share some Beaujolais and fois gras de canard de Gascoigne. Later we went to an italian restaurant close to our place. Pretty good food and real italian atmosphere. After diner we had a chill out session on our porch before diving into the nightlife of PB.
Sunday was lazy beach day with Michi and our San Diegan friends. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and had excellent Sushi for diner. It's getting cooler now and you can feel that fall is coming. Still the weather is beautiful. Now we are looking forward to another week of exciting science and new things to see/learn/explore.
