Hi folks (very American)!
I guess by now everyone has seen the fires on TV even in good old Switzerland. San Diego County is still burning but the situation seems to get slightly better. The weather should change in the next hours and the Santa Ana wind slow down. It's very hot (30°C at the coast) and dry at the moment. Together with the strong winds it is almost impossible to contain the fires.
On the map below (click on it to enlarge) you can see the fires in red and an orange circle where we live. It's kind of close, but still far away. And since yesterday the fires don't move towards the coast anymore.
