After a beautiful sunset at the beach with a few crab legs at the Crab Shack we had a fierce discussion about the Swiss banks and the bank secret. It's quite interesting to follow the USA vs. UBS story from this side of the Atlantic. I don't know how much the UBS is a Swiss institution to me or how much it's just another company trying to maximize profit with all possible means. Right now I'm leaning more towards just another company and the bank secret being a nice competitive advantage, which supports tax fraud. But the Swiss economy clearly benefits from that and there is no reason to give it up unless you are forced to. Feel free to express your opinions in a comment!
