Not much to say about the week... Except that we went surfing with our German-Spanish friends Manuela and David at their home break in Del Mar. After the surf we enjoyed the Jacuzzi in their apartment complex and the Paella prepared by David. Yeees, I know that's more than not much to say about this week... But guys, we don't see the Alps, we don't have the smell after a summer rain!

Saturday was the inauguration of my new beach chair, birthday present from Selina. Please note the cupholder on the right armrest. Somehow it always feels like holidays when we are at the beach. We are still not used to the fact that we can bike to the ocean (with the beach chair on the back). I hope we never get used to that! Waves are tiny at the moment so we just sit and enjoy. Oh, and not to forget we play volleyball. Water temperatures are getting there. Even I can jump into the ocean to cool off.

Saturday night was the birthday party of our friend Caroline (another French... yes JP, we just love them!). Really nice diner at a lounge followed by VIP table in a club in Hillcrest, the gay neighborhood, where clubs have more style than in 'springbreak-all-year-round'-Pacific Beach.
Sunday. Plumbing emergency! The toilet didn't flush properly anymore and what was flushed ended up leaking from the pipe on the outer wall. Mmmh! So we called the plumber and were entertained for the next 1.5 hours. He came with a camera and we could see the whole pipe from our house to the main dran. So the thing that caused our problem was a small towel!!! Beside that there was a tennis ball (!!!) and a couple of stones. The problem is that the pipe was open so that kids playing around the house could have thrown things inside. We celebrated the regained flushing power with a BBQ in the evening with our friends Lucile and Nico and Caroline and her sister. In fact, we had forgotten the birthday present for Caroline at home the night before. Turned out that this was to our advantage as we had a very nice diner with them!
Now back to work!
