Lots of things going on since Steffi arrived: Friday night we went to the Scripps postdoc summerbash at a club right on the beach. Music was bad but the location was good. Saturday was big 1. August BBQ at our place organized by the local Swiss community (Selina, Steffi, Michi and I). Steffi has arrived with tons of decoration material and we had a lot of friends coming over to eat, drink and celebrate with us. Michi prepared a Fondue, Selina made Älplermagronen, Flammkuchen, apple pie and Lucile came with a real Swiss quiche (tomatos with a cheese cross!). Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture before it was eaten... Was a real fun evening with a good mix of people.
Today we went snorkeling with the leopard sharks at La Jolla Shores. This is always exciting! Imagine you snorkel and 1.5m underneath you have sharks everywhere. Glad they are here for giving birth and not for hunting.
