We are back from a hot weekend in the desert. Friday night we drove to Palm Springs where we enjoyed a very nice French/Belgian dinner. Slept in a Tiki style hotel with very big and very soft beds with a lot of pillows. Saturday we climbed Mount San Jacinto in an aerial tram. Impressive change from the desert to 2000m with cool forest and more alpine climate. Beautiful views and a lot of dead trees. After a short hike we headed back to the heat and drove to Joshua Tree. Relaxed at the hotel with an unsuccessful attempt to dive into the hotel pool. Way too cold! Delicious diner at a small Thai place and beer from the liquor store to finish the night at the hotel. Sunday we started with breakfast at a really cute place run by Cambodians. With full stomachs we drove across Joshua Tree National Park with several stops and short hikes. Now we are back in San Diego teaching Selina's dad how to write emails from a public computer.
