Motörhead at the Japanese supermarket

Don't get too excited, the title is misleading... This is just my way of connecting two independent highlights this spring. Japanese supermarkets are actually a constant highlight in my life here in San Diego! This one is called Mitsuwa and even sells Japanese toilets as you can see.

Wandering around, admiring and studying all the products on the shelf can easily fill an hour and a cart. Replenish stocks of noodle soup, curry, sauces and exploring new things and buying fresh sweets with all the American-Japanese makes us feel a little bit like in Japan. This impression is abruptly changed when you enter the parking lot with big SUVs and pickup trucks.

One other highlight this spring was the Motörhead concert at the House of Blues. Good old Lemmy opened the show with the traditional welcome sentence "Good evening! We are Motörhead and we play Rock 'n' Roll". Then launching into their song "We are Motörhead (born to kick your ass)". Fantastic! Also very fantastic were the people around us. A mix of skater kids and old Motörhead fans who dug out their old shirts and relived their wild(er) youth. I'd say we were somewhere in between.
