One of the things Selina always wanted to do is spend a weekend in Palm Springs. Relax by the hotel pool, read and just do nothing. That's what we did. Palm Springs is a 2.5 hour drive away. We left on Friday after work and spent two nights in the desert. Mainly poolside. We also enjoyed a fantastic diner in one of the best restaurants of the valley. The good thing here is that even the more expensive places are affordable. $100-150 is not cheap for a diner for two but that's what we used to pay in Switzerland at the local Pizzeria...

We first wanted to hike Mount San Jacinto but buried that idea when we saw that the summit was still covered with snow (on the right hand side of the photo). We went to one of the biggest outlet centers on the way home instead.
