It's definitely a big event in the US! October 31st is Halloween. We went for a quick drink and an extended walk to the bars and clubs in our neighborhood. Around 90% of all the people in the street were wearing costumes. Some were cheap, some were creative, some were sexy and some boring: Michael Phelps, police women, Sarah Palins, Death, devils, angels, girls in short skirts (Dirndl, Rotkäppchen, Pocahontas etc.). And dozens of policemen (real). Our big party was on Saturday, organized by the postdoc association of Scripps. Same as last year we went on a harbour cruise. And same as last year you can get a taste of the costumes in the Picasa album. Today was recovery and cleaning day.
